LIBRARY CLOSED:  MONDAY, SEPT. 6, 2010, in OBSERVANCE OF LABOR DAY.

STORY HOUR will begin Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 9:30am.  Children, accompanied by an adult, are invited to join us for stories by guest readers, games and music, and crafts with Chelsis.

LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING:  Monday, Sept 13, 9:30 am.  Meetings are open to the public; contact director, Catherine Schmidt, to place an item on the agenda.

 TWENTY-SEVEN PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING 4 TEENS, TURNED IN READING MINUTES FOR THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM:  MAKE A SPLASH!  READ!
THANK YOU to the teens and adults who assisted with the programs.

Summer Reading Splash Party

SUMMER READING PROGRAM: 
“Make a SPLASH”           READ!  

    Friday, July 9, 10:00 – Arts & Crafts at the library with Emporia Arts Council.
   July 12-16 – SPLASH AROUND HARTFORD with activities all week.  Come to the library for instructions to play “Splash Bingo”  and win prizes.
Tuesday, July 13, 10:00 – “Hooray for Fish” with special activities for children through age 5.
Friday, July 16, 10:00 - activities using water at the library with Karen.
   Wednesday, July 21, 4:00 – movie at the library.
    Friday, July 23, 10:00 – “Make a Splash” with crafts at the library.

 Monday, July 26, COUNTY-WIDE LIBRARY FAMILY POOL PARTY at Jones Aquatic Center from 6:30-8:00pm.  TICKET REQUIRED for participation [available at the library]

June 24, Thursday, 2:00pm at the park:  Water Festival with the Lyon County Conservation Service — “Drip, Drop, it never stops”  

July 1, Thursday, 2:00pm at the library:  Water Safety & Knot Tying with the Boy Scouts Troop 116 of Hartford and Neosho Rapids
