2014 Summer Reading Program Starts in June!

The Kick Off Party will be June 7, 2014 2-4pm at the Library in Hartford.
There will be snacks and drinks, as well as, DooLee the Clown.
Everyone is welcome! Hope to see you there!

NOVEMBER 2013 EVENTS

The new Assistant Director at Elmendaro Township Library-Hartford is Heather McCaleb.  Heather had been working as a Sub Librarian this year.  The library and community welcomes Heather!

Story Hour is every Tuesday, 9:30-10:30 at the library, except for holiday weeks.  Stories by guest readers and crafts with Chelsis.

The library will be closed for Thanksgiving Holidays on November 28 and 29th.

SEPTEMBER 2013 EVENTS

Library Assistant position open at Hartford.  Computer skills are required.  Call the library for an application.

NEW LIBRARY CARDS are available at the library. Children younger than age 14 will need to have an adult sponsor to receive a card. Patrons will need to update their information for the library.

STORY HOUR will begin Tuesday, September 10, 9:30-10:30am, for children ages 0-5.  The theme for the first day of STORY HOUR is TOYS.  Please plan to allow time for completion of information needed to receive a new library card if that has not been completed.

HARTFORD HARVEST DAY is Saturday, September 28, 2013.  Art and Collectibles will be on display at the library.

The public is invited to attend and participate in discussion with this author.  Patrons who have not yet read this book of local interest are encouraged to contact the library regarding checkout of one of the library copies.

 2013 SUMMER READING PROGRAM, “Dig Into Reading”,  begins Tuesday, June 4, at 2:00pm at the library. Kelsey Fuller, Lyon County Conservation District, will be here with the SOIL TUNNEL TRAILER.  Come to the library, sign up for summer reading prizes, walk through the tunnel, and participate in “fun” activities.  Check out the Summer Reading Page for a complete list of activities.
**Thursday, June 13, 2:00pm. Colleen Mitchell from Emporia’s David Traylor Zoo will be bringing “burrowing animals” to the library.
***Wednesday, June 19, 9:30am.  Meet at the Wildlife Office to hike Dove’s Roost trail.
****Tuesday, June 25, 10:00am. Potting and planting at Hartford Park with Janet Brassart:  “Jack and the Beanstalk: Jack doesn’t climb, but beans do!”
